We built our deck a couple of years ago with the ipé deck tiles, and it is FABULOUS. Ipé is
VERY heavy but it’s also indestructible — has the flammability quotient of cement,
apparently — and weathers beautifully, just like teak. Also, those tiles make deck building
very easy. My husband built ours in a day, and that includes having to hand-scribe the beams
underneath to account for the fact that they were resting on a sloping surface. And once you’
re done, it should last you 20 years, at least – and you NEVER have to treat the ipé with
anything. It’s great.

threw a coat of oil over the tiles this spring, I must say they look like we just installed them.
You were right the wood color returns and they look as good as new. We are very pleased

know that there are no toxic chemicals in this product and it is safe for him to crawl around
